About me
In a nutshell:
- Member of “La Société d’Astronomie de Montréal” from 1968 to 1972.
- I built my own telescope in 1969 (mirror grinding and all) with the help of club members.
- From 1974 to 2011, my passion is “dormant” to devote myself to my family and my career.
- In 2011, now retired, I purchased my “dream” telescope and joined the Club des Astronomes Amateurs de Laval. I also got interested in astrophotography and learned everything I could on the topic.
- Since 2012, I regularly run training workshops in astrophotography and I give lectures on multiple subjects related to astronomy. I counted over 110 such events since 2016.
- I also enjoy getting involved in public sky-gazing events.
- In 2016, inauguration of my personal astronomical observatory in Sainte-Sophie
- Member of the Mont-Tremblant astronomy club since 2018, I was its president from March 2022 to March 2024.
- Since 2019, I have been participating in amateur-professional collaboration programs in the field of Exoplanets (ExoClock) and gravitational waves (Kilonova Catcher)
- My astrophotos are sometimes awarded or published in different specialized magazines but what really interests me is to communicate my passion and to discover the wonders of the universe in which we all live. This is what motivated me to set up this website.
- In October 2024, I was surprised and delighted to be awarded the Dollard-Morin award, provincial level, for my benevolent action in Sports and leasure from the Government of Quebec.
- As if this was not enough, the Fédération des Astronomes Amateurs du Québec awarded me the Meritas trophy for the year 2024. Phew, quite a year!
