Hickson 44 – Compact group of galaxies
Description:
In the constellation Leo, the Hickson 44 compact group includes 4 beautiful gravitationally interacting galaxies. They are located about 80 million light-years away from us. The most remarkable galaxy with its distorted S-shape is NGC 3187. The other two spiral galaxies are NGC 3185 and NGC 3190. The fourth is an elliptical galaxy, NGC 3193.
