Jones-Emberson 1 – The Headphone Nebula

Description:

Jones-Emberson 1, the Headset Nebula is about 4 light-years wide and is located 1,600 light-years away in the constellation Lynx. It was only discovered relatively recently, in 1939, because it has a very low surface luminosity. Its central star, at the origin of this nebula, is a hot blue star of the white dwarf type and will take billions of years to cool, unlike the usual white dwarfs.
