Open Cluster M 35 in Gemini
Description:
M 35 is a pretty open cluster in the constellation Gemini. It is located about 2,700 light years away. It is barely visible to the naked eye but a good pair of binoculars shows it very well with an apparent size similar to that of the Moon (0.5 degrees).
A little higher, we can see the open cluster NGC 2158 which is much further away (16,500 light years) and therefore appears smaller.
