M 42 – The Orion Nebula

Description:

M 42, the Orion nebula is the great favorite of amateur astronomers as well as astrophotographers. It is easy to find in the constellation Orion in winter. She is just below the 3 shining stars in the belt of Orion. It can be easily seen with binoculars.

It is a diffuse cloud which shines in emission and in reflection, It is part of a much larger complex which covers half of the constellation.
