NGC 7000 – The North America nebula

Description:

The North America Nebula in the constellation Cygnus. This emission nebula glows because of its hydrogen gas which is ionized by ultraviolet rays coming from an ultra-hot star hidden behind the dark interstellar dust cluster. Its size is immense and it is located relatively close at 2,000 light years. It is also the site of intense star formation.
