NGC 7023 – The Iris Nebula

Description:

The Iris Nebula is a favorite among amateur astrophotographers because of its pretty blue hue and contrasting dark dust. It is a “reflection” nebula, that is, it does not emit light itself but rather reflects light from a surrounding star, in this case a relatively bright star of magnitude 7.4
